I teach from my home in Lancing on my beautiful upright Yamaha U3H.
My home benefits from plenty of nearby, free parking. The nearest bus stop is a minute's walk away.
Under 18's are more than welcome to be accompanied by one person - a comfy chair and free Wi-Fi awaits you.
I have measures in place to maintain a clean teaching space. You can find my Covid-19 measures here.
I reserve teaching virtually for lockdown/isolation scenarios, or in the instance of last minute absences preventing face-to-face lessons. Virtual lessons are priced at my normal lesson rates.
Booking lessons one at a time
A useful way to book if:
You can't commit to an ongoing time
You only wish to have biweekly or ad hoc lessons
You just want to try lessons out for the first month before committing to paying in blocks
The easiest way to book for weekly lessons. By block booking you secure your weekly lesson time.
Lessons scheduled after 3pm require block bookings of at least four weekly lessons.
Most of my students book in blocks of four at a time, paying via a standing order. You can book more than four lessons in a block should you wish to.
You will receive a free practice diary for me to note down achievable objectives to be practiced for your next lesson and for you to log your practice sessions.
While it can't always be done, for most complete beginners, a minimum of 15 minutes most days will aide a steady progression.
Practicing will undeniably reinforce understanding and lesson content. It will also help you become increasingly more familiar with sight reading, will help you master playing your pieces faster, encourage suppleness and coordination in your hands and strengthen muscle memory.
Piano vs. keyboard
I am happy to help choose the most suitable piano or keyboard for you. Pianos can be bought locally with finance. For some, the cost of a piano might still be prohibitive. If you are looking for an affordable alternative, you may wish to consider a new or second-hand digital piano with weighted keys. Digital pianos can have headphones plugged in which can be advantageous.
Terms & Conditions
After your free trial, if you would like to book lessons I will direct you to my Terms and Conditions. The terms include my cancellation policy, which gives you flexibility to rearrange lessons up to 24 hours before lesson start times.
