Face-to-face
I teach from my home in Lancing on my beautiful upright Yamaha U3H.
My home benefits from plenty of nearby, free parking. The nearest bus stop is a minute's walk away.
Under 18's are more than welcome to be accompanied by one person - a comfy chair and free Wi-Fi awaits you.
I have measures in place to maintain a clean and safe teaching space. You can find my Covid-19 measures here.
Virtual learning
Virtual lessons are available, at the same fees.
Ordinarily I reserve teaching virtually for lockdown, isolation scenarios, or in the instance of illness preventing face-to-face lessons.
Booking lessons one at a time
A useful way to book if you are just beginning lessons or if you do not wish to commit to a block booking. Booking this way is always an option, however due to demand, it can't necessarily secure an ongoing weekly lesson time.
The majority of my students choose to book lessons one at a time for the first month, after which they book in blocks to secure their weekly lesson time.
Block bookings
By block booking you secure your weekly lesson time. This is the easiest way to book when you want ongoing lessons.
You can book as many lessons as you like in a block. Most of my students book in blocks of four at a time, paying via a standing order.
Home practice
You will receive a free practice diary for me to note down realistic weekly objectives and for you to log your practice sessions.
I will teach you easy methods to ensure your time spent practicing is beneficial.
While it can't always be done, regular piano practice between lessons will undeniably reinforce lesson content. Even if you practice for 15 minutes most days, this will aide a steady progression. Practicing will help you master playing your pieces faster, encourage suppleness in your hands and will strengthen muscle memory.
Piano vs. keyboard
I am happy to help you choose the most suitable piano or keyboard for you. Pianos can be bought locally with finance. For some, the cost of a piano might still be prohibitive. If you are looking for an affordable alternative, you may wish to consider a new or second-hand digital piano with weighted keys.
I have myself had lessons on a digital piano. They sound and feel authentic, and one's pianism does not suffer. They can also be played with headphones plugged in.
Terms & Conditions
Sometimes life gets in the way and you may need to rearrange a piano lesson. Therefore I have a policy in place giving you flexibility to rearrange (or postpone lessons to the following week) free of charge, up to 12 hours before your lesson time.
Before booking lessons, please kindly read the T&Cs by clicking here. By booking, you agree to the terms.
