Autumn 2024 Recital

This year's recital was a terribly sophisticated affair held in a Grade 1 listed manor house, Newtimber Place. Nineteen of my students across all abilities and ages played to an audience of eighty. Special congratulations to the Pianist of the Year Runner-Up: Ralph, and the Pianist of the Year: Leon! Please see below to scroll across photos and feedback, and to see videos of some of the best bits.

I have known many of my students now for four years, and it is an absolute pleasure to be a small but hopefully important part of their lives. I am also incredibly grateful to call several of my students and parents of my students friends. I find so much joy in putting on these recitals and I absolutely love teaching each one of my students. I hope playing the piano gives them all many years of happiness!

"It was such a lovely afternoon and you must have put so much work into it. It's so nice to get to know your other students. Everyone is really kind and you have created such a nice group of people gathered around you.

What a privilege to play there. I have had some really nice feedback from my playing. It was really inspiring to hear your other students play. I loved that you said a bit about each student, which made it so personal.

What a gorgeous afternoon. I really appreciated everything about it. We need these beautiful moments in life and it's great when somebody makes that happen, so thank you. Well done." - Chick
