Upright Yamaha Piano U3H

I offer an initial free, no obligation 30 minute consultation for all prospective students, after which weekly lessons are recommended.

Virtual lessons are available, at the same prices. Please let me know if you would prefer virtual learning.

I teach from my home in Lancing on my beautiful upright Yamaha U3H (above). My home benefits from plenty of easy, free parking and I will provide you with a free practice diary. Under 18's are more than welcome to be accompanied by one person - a comfy chair and free Wi-Fi awaits you.

Booking individual lessons one by one is a good option if you are just starting out, or if you do not wish to commit to a block booking. This option works best if you are flexible with dates/times, or wish to book lessons for late mornings-early afternoons, as these tend to be my quieter periods.

Block bookings are the best option if you know for certain that you want to have ongoing lessons and that you can commit to regular piano practices, or if you have limited availability and need to secure a weekly slot. I strongly advise booking a block if you require evening lessons. You can book as many lessons as you like in a block. I recommend booking in blocks of a minimum of four. Block bookings of ten lessons receive one free lesson.

While it can't always be done, a daily piano practice will undeniably reinforce lesson content and will aid a steady progression, even if it is just for 15 minutes. If you do not already have a piano or a weighted keyboard, or perhaps do not wish to commit to purchasing one initially, I welcome my students to use my piano for £5 per 30 minutes of practice time, to be booked within 24 hours of the practice session. (There are also some local rehearsal rooms with pianos - please ask me for details).

I am happy to advise you in choosing the most suitable piano or keyboard for purchasing. For some people the cost of a piano might be prohibitive. If you are looking for an affordable alternative in today's market, you may wish to consider a digital piano with a weighted keyboard. They can be bought second-hand or new. I have myself had lessons on a digital piano. They sound authentic and one's pianism does not suffer. They can also be played with headphones plugged in.
